Passions in medicine—I genuinely enjoy every aspect of full spectrum family medicine but as the senior provider I am currently enjoying a practice of Internal Medicine/Geriatric patients. Few things are more rewarding than seeing a continuity OB or a pediatric patient that I have delivered years ago. At the same time, the intensity of managing an ER trauma patient or working through the complexities of a difficult inpatient case continues to energize me and keeps every week exciting.
Additionally, one of my greatest passions is teaching. Working alongside residents and medical students, witnessing the excitement of their many “Firsts” and watching their confidence and clinical skills grow during their time in Thermopolis is incredibly rewarding.
Passions outside of medicine—Outside of medicine my greatest priorities are my faith and my family. Growing my relationship with God and spending meaningful time with my family are what keep me grounded and provide balance in my life.
My wife, Lisa, and I enjoy wildlife photography, making memories with our family, and spending time together at the lake. Life with our children—McKenna, Cody, and Kanon— is always an adventure, usually centered around watery they’re passionate about at the moment, whether that’s basketball, football, hiking, shooting sports, 4-H projects, fishing, or another new challenge.
When I have the opportunity to venture out on my own, you’ll most often find me in the backcountry with my mules. Whether I’m searching for shed antlers, hunting, or simply exploring new country, I find peace and perspective in the outdoors. The quiet moments in nature provide the perfect reset and remind me why I value both the work I do and the life I’m blessed to live.

As a full-spectrum family physician, I have a deep passion for providing comprehensive, relationship-centered care throughout all stages of life. I especially enjoy obstetric care and labor and delivery management, as well as women’s health and emergency medicine. One of the things I value most about rural family medicine is the opportunity to care for patients in a variety of settings, including the clinic, hospital, emergency department, and nursing home. I find it incredibly rewarding to build lasting relationships with my patients and to care for multiple generations of the same family, through many of life’s most important moments. In addition to clinical practice, I am passionate about academic medicine and enjoy teaching and mentoring the next generation of physicians. Precepting students and residents allows me to share my love of family medicine while helping learners develop the skills and confidence needed to provide excellent patient care in rural communities.
Outside of medicine, I enjoy adventure and new experiences. I love international travel and exploring new places, especially when those experiences push me outside my comfort zone. Whether it’s bungee jumping, riding roller coasters, or immersing myself in a different culture, I enjoy opportunities that challenge me and broaden my perspective. At home, I enjoy cooking, discovering great food, and relaxing with a good book. My husband, Travis, and I love off-roading and rock crawling in our 4×4 vehicles, playing cribbage, and spending time with our dogs. Balancing a fulfilling career in medicine with adventure, lifelong learning, and family helps me bring energy, curiosity, and compassion to everything I do.
